What is fleet insurance?+
Fleet insurance brings two or more vehicles together on a single motor policy. Instead of juggling separate policies, you have one renewal date and one set of documents. The insurer considers your business, vehicles, drivers and claims history together.
How many vehicles do I need?+
Many UK insurers offer fleet cover from two vehicles. The choice of schemes generally increases at three to five vehicles. Tell us what you run and we can discuss the available options.
Can I mix cars, vans and HGVs?+
Mixed fleets can often share a single policy. Cars, vans, pick-ups, HGVs, minibuses and taxis may be included, subject to the insurer accepting the vehicle types and their uses.
What affects the cost of fleet insurance?+
Insurers consider your claims history, trade, vehicle types and values, driver ages and licence history, mileage, overnight parking and security. The level of cover and excess also affect your premium.
What is confirmed claims experience?+
Confirmed claims experience (CCE) is information from your current insurer about the number and cost of claims, usually over three to five years. A broker may ask for this when arranging a fleet quotation.
How quickly can my cover start?+
Same-day cover may be possible once the insurer has accepted your information and the terms are agreed. Submitting an enquiry does not put insurance in place.
Is there a charge to request a quote?+
Our enquiry form is free to use and there is no obligation to buy. Your broker will explain any premium, fees and terms before you decide to proceed.
